Dublin, Pleasanton Moms Launch Board Game To 'Empower Empathy'
Here's how the game seeks to teach kids to be more thoughtful, emotionally intelligent people.

TRI-VALLEY, CA — Two moms from Dublin and Pleasanton joined forces three years ago with a common goal: To find a way to teach children to become more emotionally intelligent individuals.
The result was board game Empower Empathy, the brainchild of educational psychologist Angel Liang of Pleasanton and designer Tina Wong of Dublin. Their company, Tiny Sprouts, said in a statement that it intends to donate 10 percent of proceeds to building schools around the world.
"We hope to help children grow into kinder and stronger human beings," Tiny Sprouts said on its website.

The game launched in November and won four major children's game awards, according to the statement.
Empower Empathy features bright colors and cartoon figures designed to appeal to kids, who embark on a journey to save the fictional city of "Empathropolis" when they sit down to play the game. It seeks to teach kids to be mindful, become emotionally aware, self-reflect, improve communication and practice empathy, among other skills, according to the statement.
