Dublin Police Take 1st Place In USS Hornet 'Pull-For-Hunger' Event
The team was among 12 raising $50,000 for Move for Hunger, a nonprofit devoted to delivering surplus food to those in need.
DUBLIN, CA — A Dublin Police Services team took first place last week in the Bay Area's "Pull for Hunger" fundraiser at the USS Hornet Museum in Alameda.
Twelve teams competed in the event, held Oct. 4, that raised $50,000 for the nonprofit Move for Hunger, according to Russell Moore, director of events and outreach at the ship's sea, air and space museum.
Dublin PD took on the challenge and pulled a large, moving truck — hooked to a rope — 100 feet across the finish line.
