Dublin Pride Week Begins This Week

The city has unveiled this year's lineup. Here's what you need to know.

DUBLIN, CA — The annual Dublin Pride Week volunteerism event kicks off Saturday and runs through May 1.

COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place for the series of events that aim to improve the city.

Saturday, April 24

Volunteer Day (8 to 11 a.m.)

Volunteers can register here for cleanups at Dublin's waterways and schools, plus city beautification projects. Volunteers meet at Emerald Glen Park's basketball courts, where they can eat a light breakfast and get their assignment for the day. Volunteers will meet at the park again at noon for a light lunch.

20th National Prescription Drug Take Back Event (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Drop off pills, tablets and other solid prescription drugs at 100 Civic Plaza. Dublin Police Services is hosting the event. Intravenous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted. No questions asked.

Saturday, May 1 (7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)

Free compost pickup and household hazardous waste drop-off will take place on behalf of Amador Valley Industries. Make an appointment by Friday by emailing psc-appointments@answerquick.com or calling 925-557-1091. The facility is located at at 5601 Arnold Road.

Hazardous items eligible for drop-off include motor oil, paint, cleaners, batters, light bulbs, herbicides, pesticides and more.

Ongoing Events

Residents are encouraged to donate to the virtual food drive by bringing donations to Alameda County Food Bank, Children’s Emergency Food Bank, Open Heart Kitchen and Senior Support Program of the Tri-Valley.

The "Make Soup Not Waste" cooking workshop is hosted by Anne-Marie Bonneau and seeks to teach people to prevent food waste. Find it here.
