Dublin School District Appoints New Assistant Superintendent of Business Service

Claudio "Joe" Sorrera has been appointed Superintendent of Business Service after several years of experience in school business.

From Dublin Unified School District: At Tuesday night’s meeting of the Board of Trustees, the Board approved the appointment of Claudio “Joe” Sorrera as the Dublin Unified School District’s new Assistant Superintendent of Business Service.

Mr. Sorrera has more than two decades of experience in school business. For the past six years, Mr. Sorrera has served as the Superintendent of Business Services and Chief Business Official for the Orange Unified School District in Southern California. He has managed a budget in excess of $300 million in a district serving more than 30,000 students and has overseen bond programs similar in scope to those in Dublin Unified.

In addition to serving as Orange’s CBO, Mr. Sorrera served as the district’s account supervisor, and also worked in the private sector for many years as a Certified Public Accountant.

“We are thrilled to have someone with Mr. Sorrera’s experience and talent coming to Dublin Unified,” said Superintendent Dr. Leslie Boozer. “Mr. Sorrera is a highly regarded CBO and will jump in quickly and make immediate contributions to our efforts to find solutions to our challenges related to growth and funding. We are fortunate to have him join our team.”
