Dublin Traffic Stop Leads To Gun, Brass Knuckle Seize: Cops

A routine stop led police to two arrests.

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin police said Tuesday a driver and their passenger were arrested during a traffic stop this week after police found a gun and brass knuckles.

“Another gun recovered from a prohibited convicted felon taken off the street during a traffic stop,” the police department said. “The passenger was also taken into custody for brass knuckles.”

"The Dublin Police recovered 108 guns in 2021 and we are on pace to surpass that number this year," Captain Nate Schmidt told Patch.

"Brass Knuckles are a dangerous weapon which can cause great bodily harm," Schmidt said. "The crime is covered under 21810 of the Penal Code and is considered a ‘Wobbler’ crime (i.e. can be charged as a felony or misdemeanor.) Great job by our officers to get these dangerous weapons out of our community."
