DUI Checkpoint, Increased Patrols Planned In Dublin
Dublin police plan to conduct a DUI checkpoint and increased patrols this Friday night.
DUBLIN, CA — Dublin Police Services announced that it will hold a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint Friday, May 9 from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. at an undisclosed location in the city. Extra DUI officers will also patrol the city at the same time, DPS said.
Checkpoints and patrols will be done in areas with a history of DUI-related collisions and arrests.
Drivers are reminded that impaired driving can also result from cannabis or other drugs, in addition to medications that provide an “operating heavy machinery” warning on the label.

Anyone who intends to drink should have a plan for getting home safely that does not involve driving. A DUI is a misdemeanor charge that can result in thousands in fines, a suspended license, and possible jail time.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” DPS Captain Miguel Campos said in a statement. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety.”
