Help Beautify Dublin On Volunteer Day

Join in as part of Dublin Pride Week.

DUBLIN, CA — If you’re looking for a volunteer opportunity in Dublin, Dublin Pride Volunteer Day could be the perfect option.

As part of Dublin Pride Week, the day offers a handful of volunteer opportunities to get involved and give back to the community.

Several hundred resident volunteers will be working throughout the day to beautify Dublin on April 23, the city said.

The city lists the following projects for volunteers.

Projects at city parks and facilities:

  • Litter collection
  • Planting trees and plants
  • Spreading decomposed granite on pathways
  • Sand in playgrounds
  • Spreading mulch around planted areas
  • Weeding planted areas
  • Light cleaning of city facilities
  • General maintenance of bio-swales

Projects at Dublin Unified School District:

  • Drought-resistant landscaping that includes planting trees and shrubs and spreading mulch around planted areas

Creek and Trail Cleanups:

  • Walking many sections of creeks and trails at various locations throughout Dublin to ensure that they are free of litter and debris

Volunteer Day is from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All volunteers will meet at Emerald Glen Park. A light breakfast will be provided.

The city will provide tools but volunteers can also bring their own. Water, sunscreen, gloves and close-toed shoes are also recommended.

Once the work is finished, the city will provide a barbecue lunch at Emerald Glen.
