Iron Horse Trail Bridge Installation Postponed
The contractor reportedly told the city late Saturday they were not ready to hoist the 230-foot-long bridge over Dublin Boulevard.

DUBLIN, CA — The planned installation of the Iron Horse Trail Bridge and the resulting 24-hour closure of Dublin Boulevard were postponed, the city of Dublin said.
The city was anticipating a crane to hoist, fly and set a 230-foot-long, 20-foot high free-span pedestrian bridge over Dublin Boulevard early Sunday morning, and Dublin Boulevard was scheduled to be closed from 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 until 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10. The community was invited to watch from the parking lot of Don Biddle Community Park.
The city said that the contractor, Goodfellow Bros., told them late Saturday night they could not complete the final assembly of elements necessary to lift the bridge over the street. As a result, the lift and closure are postponed until an unknown future date.
