Light Rain Falls On The Tri-Valley

A foggy Friday morning could follow Thursday's rainy conditions.

DUBLIN, CA - Rain has returned to the Tri-Valley and could stick around through the night.

The National Weather Service predicts the chance for rain Thursday is 80 percent to 90 percent throughout the area. Expected rainfall totals are not high but most areas will likely see at least light rain.

Danville has one of the highest chances of seeing some showers with a 90 percent chance of rain Thursday and winds possibly reaching 21 miles per hour. Temperatures drop to around 42 degrees Thursday night with a 40 percent chance of rain in the late evening. The rain moves out by Friday which is predicted to be mostly sunny and near 67 degrees.

San Ramon also has a 90 percent chance of light rain Thursday. The NWS predicts a similar forecast to Danville with Thursday night’s temperature near 43 degrees and a 40 percent chance of rain before the sun returns Friday with a temperature of 66 degrees.

Fog is expected to follow the rain on Friday. The NWS predicts Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore have the highest chance of a foggy Friday morning.

The forecast in Dublin calls for an 80 percent chance of rain Thursday and temperatures near 58 degrees. Rain chances dip to 40 percent Thursday night with winds at 21 miles per hour before a possibly foggy Friday morning. The NWS predicts patchy fog after 4 a.m. then a cloudy afternoon at 66 degrees.

Pleasanton also has an 80 percent chance of rain and the temperature is predicted to be 58 degrees Thursday. Wind gusts could reach 22 miles per hour. There’s a 40 percent chance of rain Thursday night with cooler temperatures around 44 degrees. The chance of rain for the evening is 40 percent before patchy fog arrives before 8 a.m. Friday. The sun will likely come back Friday afternoon and temperatures return to 67 degrees.

A similar forecast is predicted for Livermore with an 80 percent chance of rain Thursday and temperatures near 60 degrees. Wind is moderate but could produce gusts up to 23 miles per hour. Thursday night’s temperature also goes down to 44 degrees with a 40 percent chance of rain before a mostly sunny Friday at 68 degrees.

The NWS reminds drivers that driving in foggy conditions is very dangerous. However, if driving can’t be avoided, use low-beam headlights and drive slow. Using high-beam lights can create a glare and make visibility even more restricted. Follow this link for more tips.
