DUBLIN, CA -- A motorcyclist died Friday afternoon in Dublin after being thrown from the bike and struck by a car. The California Highway Patrol said the incident was reported around 3:49 p.m. on Interstate 580.
The motorcyclist was reportedly splitting lanes between the first and second lane at 30 to 40 miles per hour when a driver in a Porsche changed lanes ahead of the motorcyclist, officials said.
The motorcyclist "locked up the brakes" before losing control of the bike and sideswiping the Porsche, CHP said.
