Photos: Emerald High Opens, Dublin Goes Back To School
Thousands of students returned to Dublin schools Tuesday, including 950 at the brand new Emerald High School.
DUBLIN, CA — For the first time in history, 42 gleaming new classrooms at Dublin’s brand-new Emerald High School were full of students, officially called “Aerouants.”
950 new students attended a successful first day at EHS, a $374 million campus that’s Alameda County’s first new school since Foothill High School opened in 1973.
“We had an awesome FIRST, First Day of School at our new Emerald High School campus!” DUSD said in a social media statement. “Thank you to all of teachers, counselors, custodians, kitchen and office staff who prepared their learning and work spaces all summer to welcome and serve our students in this historical day! Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our Parent Faculty Student Organization @ehspfso for all of their support in making our staff and students feel so welcome this past week at orientation, staff development days, and today. And most of all, thank you to our amazing students for a job well done today! We are happy that you are all finally here at Emerald!”
