Art Deal Goes Down in Los Feliz Shoe Repair Shop

Silver Lake's Matt Weinberg has been hand-coloring dollar bills for a while. He's been showing and selling them too, at galleries in Downtown Los Angeles and Beverly Hills.

Thursday, though, he made a deal in a less likely spot, Los Feliz Shoe Repair on Hillhurst Avenue.

He sold it to Johnny Nadzharyan, the son of the owner.

Weinberg, who has blogged for us in the past about skunks and other stuff, headed to Los Feliz Thursday to close the deal. He documented it on Instagram. As you can see above, there are definitely shoes in the background.

Weinberg wouldn't tell us how much the customer paid for his bill. But he did say "he'd wanted one for a while."

Los Feliz Shoe Repair is located at 1755 Hillhurst Avenue in Los Feliz.
