LAPD Rampart Division officers will be hosting a press conference Thursday morning. Their goal is to raise community awareness around rising car burglaries and thefts this year--up 25.5 percent according to a Rampart press release. The statement also says that thefts of unattended property like backpacks and laptops are also up 14.2 percent. Anyone with information about suspects committing these crimes is asked to call (213) 484-3490. We'll also be following this story, and attending the press conference Thursday so check back at the site.
