City Council to Consider Parking Fee Increase
The proposed fees would increase first offense fees by $5 and late fees by $10.

Angelenos may soon find an extra $5 tacked onto their parking citations, as the Los Angeles City Council will on Wednesday begin discussions about a plan to increase fines and late fees for scofflaw drivers.
The proposed fee structure would also increase late fees by $10.
Current fines of $53 dollars--which include parking on the left side of a roadway and parking in a hazardous area--would go up to $58.

The City Attorney's proposal also presents new fees for violations of the California Vehicle Code within the city of Los Angeles. For example, parking without proof of current registration would carry a $50 fine. Drivers who park in a bike lane would be hit with a $93 fine.
The Los Angeles City Council is scheduled to discuss the proposed parking fees during their Tuesday, July 3 meeting at 10 a.m. in the John Ferraro City Council Chamber of Los Angeles City Hall at 200 N. Spring St.
