A $1.5 million repair of sidewalks around Echo Park Lake will be completed by the end of June, a city councilman said today.
New concrete will be placed along the pedestrian walkway, which line the perimeter of the lake, making them more accessible to the disabled.
The improved sidewalks will be ready in time for the Lotus Festival on July 12 and 13 featuring Asian arts and crafts, food and cultural entertainment, according to City Councilman Mitch O'Farrell.

"Improving access and safety in our city parks is one of my number one priorities, and I am thrilled this work is finally taking shape," said O'Farrell, whose district includes the park. "This is one more addition that will create an even better experience at Echo Park Lake."
