Construction Begins On Echo Park Skate Park
The skate park will be located on the east side of the Echo Park Recreation Center.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Construction on the skate park at Echo Park Recreation Center has begun, after what Los Angeles City Councilman Mitch O'Farrell said Thursday was a decade in the making.
The skate park will be located on the east side of the center at Bellevue and Echo Park Avenues. It will include a mini-bowl at the site of the old pool and "street-style" elements along the park perimeter. The 7,000- square-foot venue is intended for beginner- and intermediate-level skaters.
"Echo Park Recreation Center and Lake are major attractions for leisure and sports activities," said Michael Shull, the general manager of the Department of Recreation and Parks. "We are excited to introduce the additional amenity of a skate park to this population-dense community that will greatly be utilized by Angelenos who live near and far."
