McClanahan was reportedly found suffering multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso on the Richmond Greenway trail. Officers responded to the 3300 block of Ohio Avenue at 9:22 a.m. Monday when a shooting was picked up by the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system, Richmond police Lt. Andre Hill said. Medical responders attempted to stabilize McClanahan after he was discovered, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reported seeing a male suspect running from the scene, which is near BART tracks and Lovonya DeJean Middle School.
