Alleged Cannon Thief Arrested

The Vallejo resident allegedly stole the one-ton, five-foot, brass-and-iron cannon outside the Veterans Memorial Hall.

RICHMOND, CA: Richmond police have arrested a man who allegedly stole a World  War I era cannon from the city's Veterans Memorial Hall last month, police  officials said Thursday.

Dezi Adsuara, 44, was arrested Tuesday afternoon, a week after he  was identified as a suspect in the theft of an antique cannon that has been in the same location since 1947, Lt. Felix Tan said.

The cannon was recovered in Martinez on May 12, when a man who  bought it for $1,200 called police to say he had the item and he did not know  it was stolen, police said.
