El Cerrito Grass Fire Contained

EL CERRITO, CA — A grass fire in the Motorcycle Hill area is under control, the El Cerrito-Kensington Fire Department reported on social media Thursday afternoon.

At 2:33 p.m., the El Cerrito Police Department advised "all residents on Julian Drive are encouraged to evaluate their proximity to the fire and determine whether their homes are endangered."

The police department also told everyone to stay away from the area as traffic was being redirected to allow for firefighting operations.

It was around the same time that the fire department reported that the fire was under control.

There is no initial word on how much acreage was burned, and there are no immediate reports of injuries.
