Freeway Shooter Arrested, Attacks are Gang Related: CHP
CHP says a Contra Costa gang member was arrested for attempted murder in connection with one of the 16 car-to-car shootings since November.

EAST BAY AREA, CA- Since November 2015, there have been 16 shootings reported that have occurred on East Bay freeways in Contra Costa and Alameda counties: 10 on Interstate 80, two on State Route 4, two on Interstate 580, one on Interstate 880, and one on SR-242, according to CHP.
Officials announced Friday that a suspect in the shooting on state Highway 4 in Pittsburg has been arrested. McCoy Tiasawn, an alleged Contra Costa gang member, was arrested for attempted murder and held at Contra Costa County Jail in Martinez on $1.3 million bail.
This comes only two days after 18-year-old Joshua Cano was arrested for a the northbound state Highway 242 shooting in Concord on February 16.

"Without exception, these cases are gang related and are not random," said officials in a press release, "Gang shootings are extremely difficult to investigate, as victims and witnesses are often uncooperative with law enforcement investigators."
"We want to assure the public that although we know these shootings are not random, this fact does not eliminate their concerns,"officials said, "We have made the investigation of these crimes a top priority and are working diligently to apprehend the suspects. We encourage anyone with any information on these shootings, no matter how small or insignificant that information may seem, to call the CHP’s Special Investigations Unit at (510) 622-4609."
CHP reports that two of the 16 shootings have been fatal.
