'A Gentle Leader Without An Ego': El Cerrito Star Student
Kaylee's teacher said that she focuses on doing her best for all classwork.
EL CERRITO, CA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors. This submission comes from Thelma Bentley who nominated Kaylee, 8th grade of El Cerrito.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Kaylee is a dedicated, self-regulated student who focuses on doing her best for all classwork. She participates in classroom discussions and is a group leader. Kaylee has a unique style of dressing and wears colorful knee high socks. She is kind, clever, reads books and does aerial ribbon class to keep fit. She is also in band class, has a positive attitude and greets all her teachers everyday.
