Man Arrested in Connection with El Cerrito Shooting Tuesday

Bail for the suspect was set at $1 million.

El Cerrito, CA— Police have arrested a person allegedly responsible for a shooting early Tuesday morning in El Cerrito.

According to police, a 28-year-old man from Vallejo was identified as the suspect in the shooting that occurred at 2:25 a.m. on Dylans Way near Madera Elementary School and Mira Vista Golf & Country Club.

One person was struck several times by the gunfire and was taken to a nearby trauma center for treatment and was reported in stable condition, according to police.

Police said several agencies were involved in locating the suspect. Once the suspect was in custody, El Cerrito police interviewed him before transporting him to the Martinez Detention Facility. His bail was set at $1 million.
