Woman fatally hit by car in El Cerrito (mercurynews.com) — A 57-year-old woman was struck and killed early Friday morning while walking in the 1700 block of Eastshore Boulevard in El Cerrito, according to police. The Subaru driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities are still notifying the woman’s family and are asking anyone who saw the crash or has information to call El Cerrito police at 510-215-4400.
   

2. Kensington Police Department launches Blue Envelope Program for inclusive, neurodiversity-aware policing (contracostaherald.com) — Kensington Police are rolling out a free Blue Envelope Program that El Cerrito-area residents can join by picking up materials at the KPD lobby on San Pablo Avenue in El Cerrito. The voluntary initiative helps drivers with autism, dementia, anxiety, and other communication differences signal their needs during traffic stops, with training and tools aimed at making encounters calmer and safer for everyone.
   

3. Stevie Awards for Women in Business 2025 (lionessmagazine.com) — An El Cerrito-based firm, Global Touch, is highlighted among organizations winning multiple Gold Stevie Awards in the 2025 Stevie Awards for Women in Business, which honor women-led achievements worldwide. The piece mainly details top global winners, standout executives, and the international scope of this year’s competition, with only a brief but notable nod to the local company.
   

4. Clipper 2.0 Is Here. Glitches Have Plagued the Rollout (kqed.org) — Bay Area riders are running into glitches as the new Clipper 2.0 fare system rolls out, with some unable to upgrade accounts or access information online. El Cerrito Councilmember Rebecca Saltzman says she’s repeatedly failed to activate her own account but still welcomes the promised discounts and family features. Advocates also warn that unbanked and cash-paying riders risk being left behind.
