Plaza BART Station Makeover – Buses, Taxis Relocate for Now
If you're wondering why new orange cones, fences and workers are blocking off yet more areas of the El Cerrito Plaza BART station, the reason is a repaving project for the bus zones, expected to last into early October.

The seemingly perpetual contruction noise and disruption at the BART station at El Cerrito Plaza received a boost this month with the beginning of a new project to repave the bus loading areas on both sides of the station.
Portable chain-link fencing and orange cones have been blocking off the roadway and bus-loading zone on the east side of the station since Sept. 4. BART said at the time that it should take workers about two weeks to complete that side of the station.
Next will be a closure and repaving of the bus loading zone on the west side of the station, also expected to take about two weeks, BART said.
