Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled For Friday In El Cerrito

Officers will be looking for drunken drivers and people driving without a license

El Cerrito police officers will be out in force on Friday evening, looking for people driving under the influence or without a proper license.

The department will be conducting a sobriety/license checkpoint from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. that night in the southern part of the city. The exact location will be announced on Friday.

The checkpoint is part of the Avoid the 25 campaign and is funded by a federal grant.
