Bay Area Firefighter Killed in Truckee Car Accident
Santa Clara and Santa Cruz firefighter died in the same area, the same day as CHP Officer in unrelated accidents.

TRUCKEE, CA- A firefighter lost her life in a car accident this past weekend near Truckee, only hours after California Highway Patrol Officer Nathan Taylor lost his life in the same area.
CAL FIRE reported today that Firefighter Kirstin Snook, 25, sustained fatal injuries in a vehicle accident while off duty on March 13 in the Summit Area of California.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of CAL FIRE Firefighter Kirstin Snook,” CAL FIRE released in a statement, “Her presence will be deeply missed. Please join us in sending thoughts and prayers to her family and her crew as they grieve this tragic loss.”

Snook had worked for CAL FIRE for for the past year in the Santa Clara Unit, and she also volunteered as a firefighter with the Santa Cruz County Fire Department, Company 36.
CAL FIRE says it was Kirstin’s lifelong dream to become a career firefighter and she was working towards that goal.
