A half-mile soundwall just north of Elk Grove Regional Park now covers deteriorated metal fencing along E. Stockton Blvd. that had been a major eyesore in Elk Grove for decades. The new wall will provide peace to homeowners, a boost to economic development and improvements to safety. While effectively blocking freeway noise, the new 1,800 foot soundwall covers an unsightly, dilapidated fence that sent the wrong message to residents, businesses and visitors in Elk Grove.Â
A ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. will mark the completed soundwall project and a successful partnership between the City of Elk Grove, residents and local businesses.Â
