Elk Grove Chamber Calls for Business Walk Volunteers

More than 65 individuals volunteered during last year's citywide business survey.

Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce officials are busy at work, preparing for the second annual “business walk,” a citywide survey scheduled for April 4.

Like last year’s event, the business walk, designed to connect local business owners, is again coordinating with the Sacrament Metro Chamber of Commerce, the City of Elk Grove, the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce and the Elk Grove Economic Development Corporation [EDC].

Last year’s event managed to attract more than 65 volunteers who managed to contact more than 250 Elk Grove businesses. It is in that effort the Elk Grove Chamber is again asking for help.

The Chamber specified the following for potential volunteers:

  • Dress is business casual – professional but comfortable enough for walking (e.g. khakis and walking shoes)
  • Volunteers will be paired up and each team will be assigned a specific area of the City to survey.
  • Teams will visit as many businesses as possible in their assigned area and ask three pre-determined questions.
  • Volunteers will be asked to take notes on the replies and collect a business card from each business.
  • All materials will be provided – survey forms, pens, maps, clipboards, and gift bags to leave with each business visited.
