Elk Grove Man Dies While Assisting Mendocino County in Storm Response

Utility worker dies in crash while clearing storm debris.

Edgar Castillo, 37, a longtime resident of Elk Grove, tragically passed away this last Saturday, January 7th as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was employed by Mountain Enterprises, a subcontractor of PG&E. He was on the storm response near the community of Manchester in Mendocino County. During this time, Mendocino county was experiencing floods, downed trees and powerlines with widespread power outages. Edgar was a hardworking family man and he left behind a family of six, including twins with special needs. He was the primary provider for his family.
