Local Track Star Has Olympic Times

An sprinter with Elk Grove roots has Olympic Trials qualifying times, The Sacramento Bee reported.

Sophomore Diondre Batson, who graduated from Laguna Creek High School, clocked a 10.13-second 100 meter race on Saturday at the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday in Walnut, The Bee reported. He ran a 20.50 in the 200 meter race.

Batson's sprint times are Olympic "A" qualifying marks, The Bee reported. His 100 time would place him fifth in the national among Division I college runners and his 200 time would rate him ninth.
