Man Arrested on Suspicion of Domestic Violence
Sheriff's deputies arrested Maurice Renfroe on suspicion of domestic violence Wednesday.

Sacramento Sheriff's Deputies arrested a man after he allegedly struck and choked his girlfriend during an argument.Â
Police went to a home on the 8200 block of Calvine Road at 10:37 a.m., in response to a domestic violence call Wednesday.Â
Police say Maurice Renfroe, 29, and his girlfriend were arguing when she told Renfroe that she was going to call police. That's when Renfroe allegedly took her phone, according to police.Â
Police say Renfroe punched the woman, strangled her neck and threw a wooden drawer at her, striking her and causing injury. Â
A witness observed the fight and called 911, while Renfroe left the apartment. Police say he returned a short time later and drug the woman by her hair into the apartment, preventing her from leaving, and strangled her.Â
When deputies arrived at the home, they discovered that Renfroe and the woman were inside fighting and forced their way into the apartment. They took Renfroe into custody.Â
