Missing in Peru: Local Couple Found Safe; Surprised About International Search (VIDEO)

Two locals who were on a bicycle trip through Peru were found safely this week after many feared they had been abducted.
Jamie Neal, 25, is an Elk Grove High School graduate and Garrett Hand, 25, previously worked as a fisherman in Alaska, according to the Sacramento Bee. The Huffington Post published the following on Thursday, after the couple found out they were a a part of an international search.

A young California couple feared by family to have been abducted while on a cycling trip through Peru have safely surfaced on a river boat headed for Ecuador, surprised to learn they were subjects of an international search, the Peruvian government said on Tuesday.
"The American tourists are continuing to enjoy their trip in the Peruvian Amazon," the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism said in a statement, adding that a national police official had spoken with the couple and found them to be "in good health."
