Parts of Major Streets to Close Friday for Veterans' Day Parade

Elk Grove Blvd will be closed from Williamson Drive to Elk Grove Florin Road Friday morning to accommodate the city's annual Veterans Day parade, the announced this week.

Elk Grove Florin Road will also close between Elk Grove Blvd and the northeast entrance to Elk Grove Park.

The street closures will last from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The parade, one of the largest and most well-known in the region, begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Cosumnes Community Services District building, 8820 Elk Grove Blvd.

Along with the traditional rifle salute and color guard, this year's tribute will include several high school marching bands, two local motorcyle clubs and a flock of Mustang fighter planes flying overhead, according to the Elk Grove Citizen.
