Here's where to watch ‘Stranger Things' finale in theaters across Sacramento, Stockton (abc10.com) — If you’d rather see the ‘Stranger Things’ series finale on the big screen, Century Laguna 16 on Big Horn Boulevard in Elk Grove is one of the local theaters showing it Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The two-hour-plus episode, “The Rightside Up,” caps the hit show’s fifth season, with earlier Season Five episodes rolling out on Netflix this week.

Sacramento sheriff's deputy dies in crash while driving to work in storm (sacbee.com) — A Sacramento County sheriff’s deputy died early Christmas Eve in a single-vehicle crash on Franklin Boulevard, just a couple of miles south of Elk Grove, while driving to work at the nearby Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center. Authorities say wet roads from the powerful holiday storm likely caused him to lose control, one of several collisions reported across the region.

Criminal Illegal Alien Released on Bond After Fatal Crash, Protected by Washington State Sanctuary Policies (stevegruber.com) — An Elk Grove resident driving a semi-truck is facing potential vehicular homicide charges after a deadly chain-reaction crash on a Washington highway that killed another driver. Authorities say he failed to brake and may have falsified driving logs, while federal immigration officials and state sanctuary policies have become a flashpoint in the case.

Woman Who Led White Supremacist Transnational Terrorist Group Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison (buckscountybeacon.com) — A woman who formerly lived in Elk Grove has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for leading an online extremist group that promoted racist violence worldwide. Federal officials say she used her Elk Grove home as a base to spread propaganda and encourage attacks, highlighting how global extremist networks can quietly operate from ordinary suburban communities.
