• Elk Grove police officer injured in crash (fox40.com) — An Elk Grove police motorcycle officer was injured Friday afternoon in a crash near Elk Grove Boulevard and Auto Center Drive, though they’re expected to be okay. Police say the intersection should reopen by 3:30 p.m., and note this incident follows another recent collision involving an Elk Grove motorcycle officer that fortunately caused no injuries.
   

• Elk Grove Restaurant Week returns. How to unlock discounts (kcra.com) — Elk Grove Restaurant Week is underway now through Jan. 18, with more than 50 local eateries offering special deals and three-course menus when you check in using a free mobile pass.
