Police Seek Suspects in Bank of the West Holdup
Armed robbers entered the branch on Sheldon Road Thursday and made off with cash from the vault.
Two people entered the branch on Sheldon Blvd Thursday morning brandishing handguns, ordered customers to the floor and stole money from a teller's drawer and the bank vault, Elk Grove police say.
Police are asking for the community's help in identifying the two suspects, who witnesses say drove away in a white, four-door vehicle that was later found abandoned a few blocks away.
An press release includes blurred surveillance camera images of the suspects, describing them as thin African-American men about 20 years old wearing ski masks and gloves. One sported a dark jacket and cuffed jeans, while the other wore a black hoodie and gray pants, according to the police report.
