Police to Hold Sobriety Checkpoint Saturday

The Elk Grove Police Department will be cracking down on post-St. Patrick's Day revelers with a sobriety checkpoint Saturday night.

The checkpoint will last from 8:00 p.m. Saturday to 3:00 a.m. Sunday at an undisclosed location in Elk Grove.

"All too often, members of our community are senselessly injured or killed on local roadways by impaired drivers," reads a department press release. "This sobriety/driver's license checkpoint is an effort to reduce those tragedies."

In other words: If you're planning on heading over to the Wrangler's St. Patrick's Bash for more of that tasty green beer, now's the time to pick a designated driver.
