Poll Results: Elk Grove Not Nervous About Train Travel
Readers said they'll keep hitting the rails, even after last week's Amtrak crash.

In the aftermath of last week's deadly collision of an Amtrak train with a truck in Nevada, we asked readers: Did the crash make you nervous about train travel?
The answer from those who responded to our poll: A resounding no.
Eighty-one percent of you said you will not let one accident stop you from taking Amtrak in the future.

A few of you (seven percent) said it was Amtrak's high prices that made you queasy, and four percent said the accident would make them think twice before getting on a train again. One reader said simply, "Amtrak does not go where I need to go."
But overwhelmingly, Elk Grovians seem to be sticking by their trains.
