Strikes Will Beef Up Parking Lot Security
Bowling alley owners met with neighbors and police Tuesday.

After meeting with community members Tuesday night, bowling alley management has agreed to put together a new security plan for the facility's parking lot.Â
The agreement came after a long discussion in which neighbors, police, city officials and Strikes representatives shared their views on recent violent incidents at the bowling alley, said Laguna West resident Sean Edgar, who chaired the meeting.
"We got to hear directly from the owners and they were very vocal about some of the challenges they have managing the group of folks that come in there," said Edgar. "The neighbors agreed they are doing some things to the facility that are positive, but the big gap seems to be the parking lot."

Strikes owner Keith Burcham confirmed that he was moving forward with the plan and would keep neighbors updated by email between now and the group's next meeting in mid-June. A date for that meeting has not been set, but Edgar said it will be held at Strikes.
Neighbors had worked with the police department to organize Tuesday's meeting in the wake of a major fight at Strikes in March that sent several people to the hospital.
