Students at Merryhill Preschools in Elk Grove Release Butterflies

Students celebrate Earth Day and protecting the environment by releasing beneficial bugs into their schoolyards to help local vegetation

Students at Merryhill Preschools on Harbour Point Drive and Laguna Park Drive in Elk Grove recently bugged out in celebration of Earth Day as they released butterflies throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Students also planted beneficial flowers in garden beds in their schoolyard to help the local population of bees and other pollinators.

Leading up to Earth Day, students observed caterpillars, their cocoon development and transformation into butterflies. Merryhill School teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
