People around the country are celebrating National Donut Day today (no, really). But how many of them have a donut like this one available at their neighborhood cafe?
Look closely at the iPhone-to-donut size ratio in the photo to the right. Yup, this besprinkled behemoth, found at on Laguna Blvd, is about two and a half feet wide.
A donut like this takes about six hours to cook, glaze and sprinkle, said Kien Cach, who runs the shop with her daughter, Judy Cuong. It's so labor-intensive that it's not even for sale; it's just there for customers to gawk at.

But the medium-size donuts in the case belowβa mere one and a half to two feet in diameterβsell like crazy at $28.99 each, Cach said.
"People buy two of them," she said. "For birthday parties."

The giant treats aren't the only curiosity at the corner cafe, which also offers normal-sized maple-bacon donuts with real, thick slices of the meat perched atop a golden-hued glaze. (They taste better than they look.)
The cafΓ© is open until 5:00 p.m. If you hurry, there's still time to satisfy your sweet tooth while you have the excuse of a national holiday to fall back on.
