The Wake-Up Call: Summer Fun Edition

In anticipation of the temperature finally climbing and the sun chasing the clouds away, we're ditching the serious news this morning and making today's Wake-Up Call all about ways to enjoy yourself this season.

In the Patch:

Barbecue and Blues: a winning combination. The historic Mosher Ranch will play host to this Sunday afternoon benefit for the Elk Grove Community Foundation, which awards scholarships to local students. The name says it all, but parents may also appreciate the face-painting and petting zoo planned for the kids. Details and ticket prices are here.

Outside the Patch:

Camping with the River Cats. Not too far afield, the Sacramento River Cats are hosting a Family Camp Out this Friday night. The $39.50 per person admission price includes box seats for the game, dinner and breakfast vouchers, and an all-ages sleepover on Raley Field, complete with musical entertainment.
