Weekend Weather: It's a Scorcher

Don't forget the sunblock lotion if you plan on being outdoors this weekend. Better yet, be sure to find shade, too, as it's going to be a hot one in Fair Oaks, with temperatures nearing the triple-digits throughout the weekend, according to theNational Weather Service.

According to NOAA, weekend temperatures in Elk Grove are likely to remain in the upper-90s, with mostly sunny skies and light wind.

Here's how it breaks down day by day, according to NOAA:

Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98. Calm winds between 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Clear at night, with a low around 58 and south southwest wind 7 to 13 mph.

Sunday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 99 and west southwest wind between 6 and 9 mph, followed by a clear night with a low around 58.

Looking for something to do in and around Elk Grove this weekend? The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center will hold its frmo 5 to 9 p.m., 9080 Elk Grove Blvd. in Old Town Elk Grove. Guest artists "Warped Broads" will present their show on wearable art. This event is free to the public and includes refreshments.

The Wilton History Group is also hosting 7 p.m. Saturday, 12217 Keathing Rd. The cost is $10 for 10 games.
