• East Bay's November openings include new options for breakfast, dumplings, dim sum and more (richmondside.org) — Emeryville diners now have a new late-night option: Psychedelic Pizza is popping up at Krispy Joe’s on select evenings, serving slices from 6–11 p.m. alongside coffee and pastrami. The broader roundup also highlights fresh breakfast, dim sum, chocolate, brunch, and bar openings across Berkeley, Oakland, Castro Valley, and Walnut Creek for East Bay food explorers. 
• Union Pacific Train Derails Near Colfax No Injuries or Hazards Reported (sierradailynews.com) — Train service between Sacramento and Emeryville on the Amtrak California Zephyr is still partly replaced by buses after a 13-car Union Pacific derailment near Colfax on Saturday. No injuries or hazardous material releases were reported, and tracks were cleared by midday, but investigators are still determining what caused several double-decker rail cars to jump the curved section of track.
