4 Suspects Terrorize Woman In San Diego Beach Town: Cops

San Diego Police arrested four suspects who waved fake guns and carjacked a woman, leading police on a short pursuit down Mission Boulevard.

MISSION BEACH, CA — A social visit turned terrifying for a woman in Mission Beach early Friday morning when she was carjacked by four people wielding what she believed was a handgun, San Diego police say.

At around 11 p.m. Thursday, the four suspects, two men and two women, met with the victim and began socializing, according to police reports.. The nature of their relationship was unclear, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Early Friday, at around 5:20 a.m., the woman was robbed of her vehicle by two of the suspects while riding in her car. They then ordered the victim out of the vehicle near Belmont Park amusement park, according to police statements.

The victim's vehicle was later located in the downtown area of San Diego when officers attempted a traffic stop. The driver did not respond, and a pursuit ensued, the department stated.

Police deployed tire deflation devices on the vehicle, which prompted three of the suspects to flee the car on foot, but they were apprehended shortly afterward.

The fourth suspect, who remained inside the stolen vehicle, was also arrested, police said.

Police said they recovered at least one imitation firearm from the vehicle.
No injuries were reported, and the make and model of the car were not released.
