Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In Encinitas
A white sedan struck a 60-year-old man in the roadway, sheriff's officials said.
ENCINITAS, CA — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car over the weekend in San Diego's North County, authorities said.
The fatal crash happened around 6 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Jupiter Street in Encinitas, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
A white sedan struck a 60-year-old man in the roadway, sheriff's officials said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was withheld pending family notification.

The driver, an 84-year-old man, suffered no injuries and remained at the scene, officials said.
The collision remained under investigation. It was unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
