On May 18th the Leucadia 101 Main Street presented: Leucadia's Got Talent: Battle of the Bands as a preview for our Summer Fun on the 101 concert series. Summer Fun on the 101 will be held June 28th and 29th 2013. At the battle of the bands, six gifted young groups with players from all around North County battled it out for a spot in the line up at Summer Fun. The competition was a blast and all kinds of rock and roll styles were represented.
The Chops Woodshed Academy started things off strong with an original surf rock piece called 'Electric Bath Tub Jamboree' that earned them a spot playing at Lou's Records at the main event 6 p.m. June 28 at Lou's Records. They won judges choice.
Step Forward Lads won the people's choice award and wowed the crowd with four part harmonies in their fresh reworking of Led Zeppelin's 'The Ocean'. They can be heard Saturday, June 29 at 1:30 PM at Leucadia Roadside Park.
