- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Friday named Encino attorney Kira S. Masteller to the Prison Industry Board of Directors. The 11-member board ensures that the state's prison industries are self-sufficient and that they do not have a substantial adverse effect on private enterprises. Masteller, 45, is a partner with Encino law firm Michelman & Robinson LLP.
- The Encino Chamber of Commerce is ramping up for the Taste of Encino. This year's event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Cyril of Jerusalem School.
- Crespi's 5-foot-4-inch receiver, Mike Davison, may be short, but he's making a big impact on the football team. Davison already has 20 receptions and four TDs for the 4-1 Celts.
