It's National Bank Transfer Day, and Guy Fawkes Day
For some, Saturday will be a day to transfer money from their banks to local credit unions.

Bank Transfer Day—November 5—is a protest movement that recently started on social media to encourage people with bank accounts to move their money away from major banks and into smaller local credit unions, according to an article on the Huffington Post.
The Bank Transfer day Facebook page has a logo that looks like a Guy Fawkes mask; this image appears in the comic book series and movie V for Vendetta, and has recently been adopted by anti-establishment movements like the recent Occupy protests.
November 5 is an interesting day to pick; it's the day that, every year, people in the United Kingdom celebrate the failure of Guy Fawkes' assassination attempt on King James I, way back in 1605.

It might not be the best day to pick to withdraw your money, though: some banks (like the branch of my bank on Ventura Boulevard in Encino) are closed Saturday.
Take our quick poll, below: are you transfering your money from a major bank to a credit union? Or are you keeping it where it is?
