Here's what's planned at the Encino-Tarzana Library this month.

Tuesday, 4-5 p.m: Arts and Crafts Fun for Kids.

Oct. 12, 3-5 p.m: Persian Movie Screening.

Oct. 13, 4-5 p.m: Teen Advisory Board. Help plan Library events and have some input about what materials and programs the Library offers to teens. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Oct. 17-20:  Los Angeles Public Library Open House Week.

Oct. 18, 4-5 p.m: Storytime for Pre-School Children and Families.

Oct. 18, 6-7 p.m: Parents and teachers are invited to a tour of the library resources, and given the opportunity to ask the senior librarian questions. Refreshments will be served.

Oct. 20, 4-5 p.m: Gourmet Donuts Workshop for Teens. Learn how to use a simple, delicious recipe to entertain and wow your friends and loved ones at special get-togethers. Sponsored by the Library Foundation.

Oct. 25, 4-5 p.m: Halloween Party for Kids: stories and songs with Ken Frawley. Co-Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Oct. 26, 1-2:30 p.m: Friends of Library Open Board Meeting.

Oct. 26, 4-5:30 p.m: Friends of Library History & Politics Book Club: Select and read a book on Presidents Ronald Reagan and/or George H. W. Bush; come prepared for a lively discussion.

Oct. 27, 5:30-6:30 p.m: Book Lover's Book Club.
